The " mechanical " designation on a supplement can only mean one thing : Therein lies a helpful guide to the mechanical aspects of the game. Supplements with the " Dream Realm " designation are there to add narrative depth to the Mechanical Dream universe.
After a year and a half of concerted effort, Mechanical Dream was born. It was the first offspring of Steam Logic Publishing. He proved to be a promising child indeed. He brought us down a path of new vistas; ever more beautiful and complex. A few months later, a box-set of more than 150 pages spread over three volumes would see the light of day�
This box-set contains the real grit of Mechanical Dream : For example :
· One campaign to get you started
· An introduction to the Ecatim ( " Half-Echoes ") as well as a few examples of how they fit in to the Kaïnas picture.
· Two new Vocations : The Specter and the Engineer
· Three new Gifts from the Second Sphere per Vocation : i.e. 168 new powers !
· The Dream Shamans' rituals, as well as the basic rules of their use
· The Truth Crafters' Craft-Objects, as well as the basic rules of their use
· A 3' x 2' map of Kaïnas
· A 3' x 2' map of Core Domain
· A screen with four panels containing all the necessary tables for quick and easy reference.
· Mechanisms of the game are developed to the Nth degree. This goes for the Engineer as well as for the other Vocations.

As well, there will be a Mechanical Dream overview - complete with errata as well as a commentary on the basic text. There will be suggestions for the effortless use of the combat system. There will be a broadening of understanding of the various races and vocations. There will be a demystification of a few peculiarities such as Orpee, Sofee and the Dream. There will be a Help section for the Game Master; with examples of pnjs charts for use in combat, tips and shortcuts that are complimented with the addition of several pnjs. |
